How to play
Block Throw is a two-player block duel. The screen is split in half: the bottom is yours, the top is your rival's. One big difference from classic block games: the game does not pick your next piece. Your rival does, and you pick theirs.
Rules
- The first piece comes from the game. At the start, each side gets one piece from the game, once. After that, the players pick every piece.
- Place the incoming piece. It falls into your half. Move it, rotate it, drop it into place.
- Pick your rival's piece. As soon as your piece lands you have 3 seconds. Choose one of the seven shapes (I, O, T, S, Z, J, L) and send it across the middle line.
- Too slow costs you. If you do not pick in time, a random piece goes to your rival and a garbage row is added to the bottom of your half.
- The same piece at most twice. You can send the same shape at most twice in a row. The third time you have to pick another one.
- Clear lines. Full rows disappear and score: 1 line 100, 2 lines 300, 3 lines 500, 4 lines 800 points. Soft drop adds 1 point per row, hard drop 2.
- Touch the middle line and you lose. Whoever stacks up to the middle line loses the match. The game speeds up a little every 30 seconds.

Play a friend
Open a room and send the invite link to a friend. When they open it, you meet in the same match. When it ends, ask for a rematch with one tap.

Strategy tips
- Look at your rival's board. Before you pick, check their half. If they have a long, narrow well, an I piece would help them. Send S and Z, which do not sit flat.
- Pick fast. You only have 3 seconds. A garbage row for hesitating usually costs more than sending a so-so piece.
- Keep your surface flat. Your rival will send you awkward pieces. The flatter your stack, the less S, Z and O can hurt you.
- Mind the repeat rule. After sending the same piece twice you cannot send it a third time. Your rival has the same rule; plan for it.
- Clear several lines at once. Four lines at once score twice as much as four single lines. Close to the middle line, safety comes first.
Install it like an app
Block Throw runs in the browser, nothing to download. You can also add it to your home screen and open it like an app: on Android, Settings > Install the app; on iPhone, in Safari, Share > Add to Home Screen. Once installed, the bot mode opens without internet.
